How do your new hires look six months down the road? Are you still as happy with them as you were when you first brought them in? Or have they faltered, either because of a poor cultural fit or just because they aren't very good? These are problems that should have been rooted out early. Aim to identify, rather than attract, new hires. Pressure them, and assess them to make sure they won't have to be replaced next year.
